Social Emotional Learning

At Clifford School, we believe that social-emotional learning in school is essential in helping our students thrive and be academically successful. Our students particpate in a variety of Social Emotional Learning activities regularly in their classrooms.  These include but are not limited to community circles, morning meetings, read alouds,  lessons, and activities,   Our middle school students receive lessons from Character Strong, and SEL program that caters especially to children this age.  In addition, our PTO sponsors the parent-led SEL program Project Cornerstone which is implemented TK-8th grade.

This year we are introducing monthly character traits!  Each month we highlight a particular character trait and throughout the month teachers focus on building student's skills and habits and bring awareness to the benefits of building them into our character.  Each month students who are show exemplary skills in the trait of the month will be recognized at an assembly.
