K-5 Literacy Specialist - Sanchez, Susan

About Me:

I grew up in Redwood City, and raised my family here as well. I started my teaching career at Taft teaching 5th grade. After two years, I moved to Menlo Park City School District and taught there for 25 years. During that tenure, I received my Masters in Reading and Literature from Cal State Hayward (now called Cal State East Bay). I spent three years teaching in Vienna, Austria and setting up a reading program and six other international school located in Europe. 

I retired from full time teaching in 2017 and retired to Murphys, CA. to “farm” and enjoy life in the mountains. But meeting the superintendent of the school district, I went back part time as a BTSA, long term sub, homeschool coordinator during COVID and again set up a reading program. 

I am happy to be back in Redwood City, enjoying more time with my granddaughters and friends. I enjoy hiking, music and the arts.
